As the season comes to a close, I am delighted to reflect on the outstanding achievements and memorable moments that defined the past few months at both ECRM and CASO Station. This summer has exceeded all expectations and left a lasting mark on our patrons for both buildings.
We had wonderful ECRM summer students this year. Maddy and Harrison are returnees from previous years and we welcomed both Stephanie and Olive to the team for the first time. On behalf of the entire Railworks team, I extend my warmest wishes for your continued success. Thank you once again for a wonderful summer, and I look forward to hearing about your future accomplishments.
We are pleased to welcome our newest tenant to CASO Station: the St. Thomas & District Chamber of Commerce, which moved in as of August 22, 2023! The new NARHF office is now located on the South-East side of Anderson Hall, taking over part of what was the servery and extra storage space. This change allowed us to maximize the usage of the building, bringing in a new tenant which will drive further rental traffic to the building. Additionally, it optimizes the usage of the servery space, which was under-utilized.
During the last week of August, the newest induction to the North America Railway Hall of Fame was installed on the second floor of the CASO Station. These murals were hung on the wall above the original staircase to be seen as visitors walk up and down the Hall of Fame.
Throughout the summer, a variety of different events were created and they were well received. The talent for comprehending and catering to diverse interests has created a lasting impact on our visitors. On top of that, there was meticulous planning and execution of venue rentals that have ensured that every event hosted at our space was a resounding success.
Also at the museum, our volunteers have worked tirelessly on Car 14 over the last year, and the progress they have made is amazing. We are eagerly awaiting showing off the finished product. Make sure you stay tuned on social media for updates during our off season!
None of this would have been possible without the passion, dedication, and hard work of every member of our team. Your creativity, resilience, and unwavering commitment to our organization’s mission have been the driving force behind this remarkable summer. As we transition into the next season, let’s carry forward the lessons learned and continue to push the boundaries of what we can achieve together.
Here’s to the exciting journeys that lie ahead!
