Description

Wayne Paddon father of 3 was head of the local Arthur Voaden Secondary School in St. Thomas, ON. His love for history inspired him to write Steam and Petticoats from 1840-1890.

The story of the Talbot Settlement in two Volumes:

1. The Story of the Talbot Settlement, 1803 to 1840: A Frontier History of Southwestern Ontario, and
2. “Steam and Petticoats”, The Early Railway Era in Southwestern Ontario, 1840-1890.

This book is for history buffs, teachers, and students to encourage more local history interest and research in what made the local area what it is today. the book is designed to stimulate and entertain all those who presently live in the area, those who have ‘roots’ there, and those who have an interest in early Canadian pioneer railway history.
